Mahala Haswell married 1st Henry Holdredge then 2nd Joel Ballard. The Ballards were living in Vanburen County, Iowa in Febuary of 1860. A rumor in our family says Mahala was running a Tavern when she was killed.Her 1st husband Henry Holdredge started the Buckhorn Tavern in Reading, MI. Would like to find out where and when she died. I think she would have been in her 50's in 1860. Thanks Charlene
