Obituary.
The following notice of the death of a former resident of this section appeared in the Western All, a paper printed in Beloit, Kas. Deceased was the daughter of J. P. Rounkles of Harrisburg.
Mary C. Rounkles was born April 2, 1846 in Licking county, Ohio, and with her parents moved to Lee county, Iowa, in 1856, where on March 7, 1872, she was united in marriage with David Crawford. To this union was born five children, four sons and one daughter, of whom only one son is living.
She and her husband united with the Church of Christ, and were baptized at Big Mound in 1876.
In February 1878 they moved to Mitchell county, Kansas, residing in Lulu township and soon after moving united with the West Asher church, of which she was a member at the time of her death.
In the fall of 1902 they moved to Beloit, at which place they resided at the time of her death.
After a weeks illness of pneumonia fever, the end came peacefully on the eve of Jan 7, 1905. The funeral services were held at the Christian church, the Rev. Ritz officiating. The remains were afterwards laid to rest in Elmwood cemetery to await the resurrection morn.
