OBITUARY SKETCH.

Margaret Jane D'Spain was born in Calhoun county, Illinois May 15, 1838, and died on the morning of Feb. 7, 1905, aged 66 years, 8 months, and 22 days. In 1856 she was married to William F. Barrett who lives to mourn his loss.

In 1865 the family came to Iowa and first located at Vernon. Since that time they have lived in this county.

Seven children were born to her, five of whom grew to adult life and survive her. They are Miss Emily of Keokuk, Mrs. Loelia Voquet of Kansas City, Ms. Frances Frye of Price, Utah, Mrs. Lutitia Stevens of Woodstock, Ill., and Frank Marion at Deadwood, S. Dak.

She was an industrious, hardworking woman, kind and benevolent, and a member of the M. E. church. Funeral services were held Thursday at Bentonsport conducted by Rev. Wehn.
