Robert C. Sturdivant, son of Dr. A. J. and M. A. Sturdivant was born Oct. 5, 1846. His boyhood days were spent in this county, living on the farm with his parents. At the age of 21 he went to Cincinnati, Iowa, to study medicine with his brother.
He was united in marriage to Miss Ollie McKehan, May 5, 1869, at Cincinnati and to this union four daughters were born, three of whom with the wife survive him and reside at Mexico, Mo., where deceased has made his home since his marriage. He is also survived by an aged mother and four sisters at Bonaparte and a brother in California.
His health has been poor for some time and he came to Bonaparte in the spring hoping the change would help him. His last illness lasted but a few days and was caused by a rupture.
He passed away at the home of his mother in this city, Monday, June 5, 1905, at the age of 58 years and 8 months. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church Wednesday, conducted by Rev. Todd of Harrisburg and the remains were laid at rest in the White cemetery.
