Mrs. Fannie Grant 1873-1958

Mrs. Fannie Grant, 84, native and long-time resident of Bur|lington, died at 8 a. m. Thursday at the home of her son, Denzlow Grant, East Moline, Ill. Death terminated an extended illness.

Last rites will be conducted at the Schroeder Mortuary, at Silvis, Ill., at 10:30 Saturday morning. The body will then be taken to Farmington for graveside rites in Green Glade cemetery at 3 p. m.

Fannie Burhans was born Nov. 30, 1873, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Denzlow Burhans. She attended the Elliott business college and was employed in a Burlington insurance agency for many years. On Oct. 4, 1899, she was married to Arvel Grant in Burlington.

They lived in Burlington until 1910 when they moved to Wyoming where they lived on a ranch for 22-years. In 1932 they came back to Iowa and settled in Farmington. Grant died in January 1944, and since that time Mrs. Grant lived with a Edna Burhans, 1207 S. Starr. She had been living with her son in East Moline since November.

Mrs. Grant was a member of the First Methodist church here, and taught a Sunday school class for several years.

Surviving are Miss Burhans: her son in East Moline: and three grandchildren. Her husband and a son, Amos, are dead. .
