Died.

Mr. John Collins was born in Uniontown, Erie county Penn. August 26th 1813, died at his home near LaCrew Iowa Oct. 24th, 1892 making him 79 years 2 months and 28 days old. Mr. Collins has been a resident of Iowa since 1848 except for a few years spent in Mo. In the year 1847 he was united in marriage to Miss Rachel Wattson at Columbus, Ohio. Four children blessed this Union all of hem have gone before. His beloved companion died in 1889. Mr. Collins was a kind hearted and generous man. He has two sisters six grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn his departure. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. B. Heightshoe at his home October 26 at 10 o'clock. A large concourse of friends and neighbors followed him to the grave and showed the respect in which he was held. He was laid to rest in the Clay Grove cemetery.
