Mrs. Martha Russell Dead.
Martha Russell, daughter of Adam and Milla Cline was born in Scott county, Ill., Aug. 9, 1834. She came to Iowa with her parents in 1840, and made Iowa her home the balance of her life. She was married to Samuel Russell in 1852 and was the mother of eleven children, six daughters and five sons, two daughters and one son have preceded her, leaving her companion and eight children to mourn their loss. From childhood she was a member of the Baptist church, and up to about twelve years of age she was an active member of that church, but since that time ill health has hindered her in that work. She was a good neighbor, an affectionate companion and mother, and her loved ones will deeply mourn their loss. She died in the morning of Sept. 26, 1892, having lived 58 years, 1 month and 17 days. The funeral took place at the residence Sept. 27, at ten o'clock a. m. the Rev. Geo. Barber, of Selma officiating, and the remains were deposited in the Holsworth cemetery by the side of her mother and other relatives.
