Eli Wiley was born in Van Buren Co. Iowa, March 20th, 1860, and died Apr. 30th, 1903, aged forty-three years, one month and eleven days. He leaves to mourn their loss three children, his father, two sisters and one brother.
He was buried at the Sharon Cemetery May 3.
He was a hard working, honest citizen, was connected with the Presbyterian church at Sharon in which church he held the office of trustee.
Two years ago his wife was taken away with consumption and now three little children have lost their last parent.
This takes away one good citizen and makes a demand for greater effort on the part of those remaining.
Mr. Wiley had been ill with pneumonia for several weeks but at first it was not supposed to be so dangerous.
A short service was held by Rev. Duty at the home in Bonaparte early Sunday morning before the service at Sharon.
An extended obituary of Mr. Wiley could not be obtained. He was a good citizen and since living in Bonaparte with his mother-in-law, Mrs. Foster, has made many friends.
M. D. Foster of Milton, a cousin of the deceased, will be made administrator and provisions will be made for the orphans.
