September 10, 1902.OBITUARY SKETCH.
Franklin Macklin was born in Clark County, Missouri April 3, 1876 and died at Keokuk, Iowa, September 10, 1902, being at the time of his death 26 years, 5 months and 7 days of age. The illness which caused his death was typhoid fever and lasted only a few days.
Mr. Macklin was well known in Bonaparte having spent five years here but for the past three years he has been in Hannibal, St. Louis, and Keokuk. That he was well liked and esteemed in those cities is shown by the beautiful floral offerings which came at the time of the funeral.
He was an industrious, energetic young man of good habits and one who made friends wherever he was.
He leaves to mourn their loss three sisters and four brothers, a father, mother, and three sisters have gone before. One sister died in January of this year.
Mr. Macklin was soon to be married to a young lady living in Keokuk.
