MRS. SARAH JANE DEWITT

Born November 14, 1860, and Died
At Warsaw, Illinois, September
27, 1902, of Typhoid Fever.

OBITUARY SKETCH.

DIED - Saturday, September 27, 1902, at the home of her father, Charles Perse in this city., MRS. SARAH JANE DEWITT, wife of Chas. P. DeWitt; aged 41 years, 10 months and 13 days.

The death of Mrs. DeWitt was especially sad. A few weeks ago she came from Bonaparte, Iowa with her little son, who was stricken with typhoid fever, hoping the change would benefit him. He was a very sick child and for days it seemed as if he could not possibly survive. A change came for the better, but almost the same moment the mother became ill and her decline was rapid. Worn out with watching and nursing, she passed into a state of collapse and death followed.

Sarah Jane Perse was born in Warsaw November 14, 1860. She united with the M. E. church when quite young and lived a consistent member until her death. September 12, 1894, she was united in marriage to Chas. P. DeWitt, and to this union two children were born, one preceeded [sic] her to the better land. She leaves a husband, one child, a father, four brothers and one sister to mourn her demise. The deceased was a loving daughter, a faithful wife, and a kind mother. In this community, the place of her nativity and where she spent almost her entire life, she had many friends, all of whom sympathize with the afflicted.

The funeral occurred Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence, Rev. J. M. Thompson officiating. At Oakland cemetery the interment was under the direction of the W. R. C. of which the deceased was an honored member. - Warsaw Bulletin.
