Death of John Stahl.

Gate City.

J. Stahl passed away Tuesday morning at his home after a brief illness of a few days. Recently a splinter entered one of his hands and blood poisoning resulted, which was the cause of death. The deceased was forty-six years of age and was born and raised in Keokuk. He is survived by his wife and three children, Carrie, Elmer and Velde, and two sisters, Mrs. Kate Elmer and Mrs. Amelia Beller of Keokuk. In addition there is one brother, W. J. Stahl who resides in Unionville, Mo. of which place his parents are also residents. The deceased had been employed for a number of years at the Schouten bakery and was a member in good standing of the baker's union. He was well thought of by his associates and his deminse will be deplored by a large circle of friends. The family will receiv the sympathy of many acquaintances here and elsewhere.

The funeral occurred Thursday afternoon from the family residence conducted by Rev. Ingham of the M. E. church. The remains were laid at rest in Oakland cemetery. The Baker's Union attended the services in a body.
