DIED

Sabbath morning, Feb. 11, Mrs. Ellen, wife of A. C. Huffman, aged 42 years, 3 monthys and 17 days.

Deceased was a native of St. Lawrence Co., N. Y., came to Iowa in 1855 was married to her bereaved husband A. C. Huffman in April, 1866. She made a profession of religion and united with the Presbyterian church at this place February 17, 1878. Mrs. Huffman was a woman of strong, good sense, and a faithful and devoted wife, a kind hearted neighbor and a generous favorite among her acquaintences. Kind and sympathetic by nature, she was ever found ready to do all in her power to aid those in distress and affliction, and her presence will be sadly missed in the community. On her bereaved husband and sorrowing friends, her loss fall (sic) very heavily.

Her death was very sudden, her last illness being of a few days duration; although for years she has been ailing.

The funeral services took place Tuesday, Feb. 13th, from the Prespbyterian church, Rev. Welch conducting the services, and preaching the funeral discourse from Revelation, 14th chapter, 13th verse: "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord."

The remains were followed to their last resting place by a very large concourse of sorrowing friends, testifying to the high regard in which the deceased was held.
