J. A. Telander, the Pilot House keeper at Farmington, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 3, aged about sixty-eight years. He had been ill for about two months. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Chas Clendooning? of Hannibal, Mo.
As the Swede hotel keeper his fame in this part of the county was great. Traveling men made it a point to stop with Telander, arranging if possible so they might bet to use Telander’s table for a few square meals. He was born in Sweden and came to American about thirty years ago. Funeral services were held Friday.
[date not given but position in scrapbook would suggest Dec. 1909]
