Died--At her home three miles east of Farmington, Iowa, March 7, 1900, Mrs. Meta Steinmeyer aged 77 years, 4 months and 17 days. The funeral took place from the German M. E. church near her late home March 9, 1900, Rev. Geo. W. Barber of Farmington conducting the service. Deceased whose maiden name was Woltmann was born in the Kingdom of Hanover, Germany Oct. 20, 1822. She came to American in 1836 and settled in Van Buren county with her parents. She was married to Frederick Steinmeyer in 1843. To this union 8 children were born, six sons and two dauhters. her husband died Nov 23, 1888. One son and one daughter also departed this life. She leaves to mourn their loss 5 sons and one daughter, 11 grandchildren, one brother and two sisters. In early life she united with the Luthrean church, after coming to American she united with the German M.E. church, holding her relation with that church at the time of her death. She was a faithful christian beloved by all who knew her.
