James C. "Jack" Morrison

James C. Morrison, son of Harry Streator and Grace Cree Morrison, was born October 16, 1912, at Douds and departed this life Wednesday, July 12, 1978, at his home in Highland Park, Ill. at the age of 65.
He graduated from Douds High School and from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering in 1938. He later took graduate work towards a Master's degree.
On August 8, 1953, he married Joan Ries at Chicago. She remains to cherish his memory as do their three sons, James, Jr.; Jack; and Joe; all of Highland Park. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Marie Horn of St. Lousis, Mo., three brothers, W. Cree of Rock Island, Ill; L. Rod of St. Louis; and Harry of Columbia, Mo., other relatives and many friends.
A registered professional engineer licensed in ten states; he was associated a numbere of years with Ernst & Ernst. At the time of his retirement due to ill health he was a consulting engineer with the A. T. Kearney Co. in Chicago.
He had served as President of the Cleveland, Ohio chapter of the American Institute of Engineers, as treasureer of the MTM association of Research and Development, and had faught graduate engineering courses at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
He was president of Triangle Engineering Fraternity at the University of Iowa while a student there, and was one of the founders of the fraternity's chapter at Northwestern University, Chicago.
He will be remembered by his family for his devotion to them, by his friends for his loyalty and by his professional peers as an expert in his field.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 15, 1978, at 11 A.M. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Harold Harryman officiating. Interment was in Zion Luthern Cemetery, near Douds.
