Harley J. Poling, son of Marion and Duella Mankin Poling, was born November 29, 1899, near Mt. Sterling, and departed this life Monday evening, January 24, 1977, at his farm home near Cantril.
His life was spent farming in the Mt. Sterling and Cantril areas. He was especially interested in raising sheep, and died in the barn attending to newborn lambs.
Remaining to cherish his memory are a brother, Arthur Poling, of Keosauqua, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 27, 1977, at 1:30 p.m. at the Cantril United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Cornish officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery at Cantril.
A memorial was established for the church, or gifts may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
