Harve Dodds - W. Harve Dodds, 86, of Stockport died at 4:20 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2001 at Mercy Hospital, in Iowa City, Iowa. He was born December 2, 1914 at Utica to Lute and Iowa Rose Johnston Dodds. He married Frances Whitcanack April 21, 1939, in Fairfield, Iowa. He lived his life on the same farm where he was born at Utica Junction south of Stockport. He graduated from Stockport High School in 1932, was affiliated with Stockport Christian Church, a 50 year member and Past Master of Workman Lodge No., 634, A.F.& A.M., Past patron of Stockport Chapter No. 544, O.E.S. a charater member of Stockport Lions Club and served many years as a Washington Township Trustee and election official and as a Miller Chapel Cemetery trustee. Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Nadine Rambo of Rockford, Illinois, a son Norman Dodds of Keosauqua, Van Buren co, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Dee who died shortly after birth: five sisters, Kathryn Calhoun, Laura Strong, Erma Duncan and Selma and Fanchon Dodds and by five brothers, Lex, Dee, Mac, Barton and Conley Dodds.
Funeral services were held Monday June 4, in the Stockport Christian Church, with Pastor Ted Morelock officiating. Burial was in Miller Chapel cemetery southwest of Stockport. Masonic rites were held by Workman Lodge Sunday, June 3, Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua. Memorials to Stockport Christian Church, Workmans Lodge or Miller Chapel Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 16033 Spruce Avenue, Stockport, Ia. 52651.
