OBITUARIES
JAMES MORROW

James Archibald Morrow, 81, of rural Keosauqua died at 5 p.m. July 13 in VaVn [sic] Buren County Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since July 6.

The son of Alexander and Jane Richardson Morrow, he was born Oct. 5, 1888 in County Donegal, Ireland. He came to Ia. in 1913 and to Van Buren County in 1935. On Dec. 22, 1922 he married Emily Patterson Comstock at Fort Madison.

He served overseas in World War I and was a 50-year member of the American Legion and a member of Beer-Barker American Legion Post in Keosauqua. He was a member of the Keosauqua United Methodist Church.

Survivors are his wife; two sons, Robert of Sturgis, Mich. and Richard of East Moline, Ill.; one daughter Mrs. Ethel (Bruce) Harryman of Douds; 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 1970 at the United Methodist Church in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Herbert Phillips of Milton officiating. Burial with military rites was held in Fairview Cemetery near Fort Madison. Catcott Funeral Home in Keosauqua was in charge of arrangements.
