Margaret KIRKPATRICK, born in North Ireland 6/26/1824. Parents Scot Prebyterians. Family consisted of 4 children - 2 sons and 2 daughter with Father and Mother come U.S. when 16 years old settled near Saratoga, NY there parents died and buried in Troy, NY and their 2 sons also died and buried in same state. Her sister, Mrs. John McVITY died 8 years ago in Bentonsport. Margaret Kirkpatrick married Thomas McVITY in Troy, NY 2/15/1844. Their home Schuylerville where Mr McVity engaged - Boot and Shoe business. After 8 years to Ottowa, IL where remain one year. To Bentonsport 8/31/1853. Parents of 4 children - Margaret Elizabeth and Jennie born in New York; John H. born Illinois and Abbie in Bentonsport. Since death of husband in 1884 lived with daughter, Mrs. Jennie GREGSON where she died 7/31/1906, aged 82 years 1 months 5 days.
