"Chet" Barker, one of Van Buren County's best known citizens passed away, Friday, Jan. 4. Chet's many years of active life with the public as a member of the board of supervisors, and in other areas of official work and service carried him into all areas of the county. And even after his retirement from active participation in these groups, his advice and counsel was valued. His circle of acquaintances was large and his friends were numbered by his acquaintances. He will long be remembered. At this office one of our remembrances of him will be our visit with him, when he posed for this picture in our office a few years ago.

NOTE: Chester born 12 Aug 1886.
