Jay N. Norris

Jay N. Norris, 73, Birmingham, died at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, May 20, at his home.

He was born June 11, 1916, in Alva, OK., the son of Jay and Miriam Herod Norris.

He married Shirley Smith on November 10, 1945, in Ottumwa, Iowa.

He lived over 50 years in Birmingham and was a member of the Birmingham Presbyterian Cburch(err), VFW, and a charter member of the Birmingham Lions Club. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army Medical Corps.

He had worked for the Dexter Company and John Deere Company before his retirement.

He is survived by his mother of Las Vegas, Nevada, his wife, two step-daughters, Sharon Love of Washington and Barbara Unkrich, Birmingham and one sister, Mary Royal, Las Vegas, Nev., also six step-grandchildren.

The body was cremated, and graveside services will be at 7 p.m., Friday, May 25 at the Maple Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Sara Malone, officiating.

Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are to the Birmingham Lions Club.
