Harold W. Meck

BIRMINGHAM - Harold Wilbur Meck, 60, of Davenport, formerly of the Birmingham and Fairfield areas, died Monday afternoon, March 19, 1990, in Davenport.

A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in Maple Hill Cemetery at Birmingham with the Rev. Sara Malone officiating. The casket will be opened at the graveside. Burch-Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham is in charge of arrangements.

Meck was born June 25, 1929, at Birmingham, the son of Ray and Harriett Lyon Meck. A resident of Davenport the last 29 years, he was a welder for the Sivier Steel Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Japan and Korea.

Surviving are a son, Richard of Davenport; two daughters, Deborah Wallace of Houston, Christie Hall of Ottumwa; six grandchildren; four brothers, Clifton, Donald L., Raymond L., all of Libertyville, Melvin of Fairfield; two sisters, Leona Holder of Des Moines and Edna Crafton of Birmingham. His parents and two brothers, Dale and Joseph, preceded him in death.
