Zola Dorothy Kirkhart, daugher(err) of Kirby D. and Blanche Work Brewer, was born February 23, 1913 on a farm southwest of Pulaski and died the afternoon of Friday, May 4, 1990 at West Point Care Center, West Point, Iowa at the age of 77.
She graduated from Milton High School in 1933.
On May 4, 1935 she was united in marriage to Jesse Kirkhart. They farmed south of Cantril. Mr. Kirkhart died May 9, 1984 and Mrs. Kirkhart moved into Cantril in 1985.
Surviving are a son, Ronald, his wife Sharon and two grandsons, Neil and Phillip of Cantril, a twin sister, Zora Grinnell of Keosauqua, three sisters-in-law, Iola Baker, Seymour, Velma Brewer, Springfield, Illinois and Grace Brewer, Ft. Madison, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Kirkhart was a member of the Cantril Christian Church and its Missionary Society.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 8, 1990 at 10:30 a.m. in the Cantril Christian Church with Rev. Gerald Caughron officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Cantril. Memorials were established for her church and the Cantril Fire Department. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
