The funeral service will be held Tuesday for Barbara Jean Brooks Harryman, 34, Ranch Trailer Court Lot 64, who died at 11:20 Friday night, Aug. 10, 1990, from injuries sustained when she was hit by a car while walking on West Grimes Avenue.
Harryman was born Aug. 6, 1956, in Fairfield, the daughter of Donald and Donna Oosthoek Brooks. She grew up in Birmingham and attended the Birmingham Elementary School and graduated from Van Buren Community High School in Keosauqua.
She married Roy Dean Harryman on June 1, 1975, in the Birmingham Free Methodist Church. They lived their entire married life in Fairfield. She was employed at the Ritam Corp., in production.
Harryman was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents and a step-sister.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Stacey and Angela, and one son, Nathan; her parents, Donna and Roy Cowen Jr., of Birmingham, and Don and Kay Brooks of Ottumwa; two brothers, Marty Brooks of Fairfield and Brian Brooks of Keosauqua; a sister, Chris Brooks of Omaha, Neb.; three step-sisters, Tammy Bigham, Julia Houk and Melissa Wiley; two step-brothers, Joe and Jeff Wiley, all of Ottumwa; and her maternal grandparents, Martin and Leana Oosthoek of Fairfield.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Caughrom officiating. Burial will be in the Leando Cemetery at Leando.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8:30 tonight. A memorial has been established to the family in lieu of flowers and may be left at the funeral home.

Barbara Jean Brooks Harryman, 34, of Fairfield died at 11:20 p.m. Friday, August 10, 1990 from injuries received in an auto accident.
She was born August 6, 1956 in Fairfield to Donald and Donna Oosthoek Brooks. She married Roy Dean Harryman on June 1, 1975 in Birmingham.
She grew up in Birmingham and graduated from Van Buren High School. She was employed at the Ritam Corporation as a production worker.
She is survived by her husband, Roy; two daughters, Stacey and Angela; a son, Nathan; her parents, Donna and Roy Cowen Jr. of Birmingham and Don and Kay Brooks of Ottumwa; two brothers, Marty Brooks of Fairfield and Brian and wife Teri (Hughes) Brooks of Keosauqua; a sister, Kris Brooks of Omaha, Nebr.; three step sisters, Tammy Bigham, Julia Houk and Melissa Wiley of Ottumwa; two step brothers, Joe Wiley of Ottumwa; her grandparents, Martin and Leana Oosthoek of Fairfield.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; and a step sister, Christine Small.
The service was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 1990 at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Leando Cemetery at Leando.
Memorials may be made to the family.
