1990 NO 29Perry Birchmier
Perry Birchmier, 74, Iowa City, formerly of Farmington, died at 4:55 p.m. Thursday, November 22, 1990 at Veterans Medical Center, Iowa City.
Mr. Birchmier was born June 17, 1916 at Troy, Iowa. He was a meatcutter and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
On November 25, 1944 at Bremerton, Washington, he married Monica Strabala, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Terry, Iowa City; two daughters, Kandy Johnson of Belle Plaine and Sharon Lemley, Marengo; two brothers, Sam of Farmington and Ross of California; a sister, LaVelle Moss of Washington; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers. His parents were Leo and Blanche Birchmier.
Graveside services were held Sunday, November 25, 1990 in Greenglade Cemetery with Robert Hambright officiating.
Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington, was in charge of arrangements.
