Wilda Syfert

Wilda Syfert, 87, of Kansas City, Missouri died Saturday, Sept. 15, 1990 in University Towers Medical Center, Kansas City.

She was born November 19, 1902 at Mount Sterling, daughter of Warren and Laura Knowles Jemison.

She grew up in Van Buren County and graduated from Keosauqua High School. She married Lloyd C. Syfert in 1920 in Keosauqua. They operated the Goodie Garden Cafe in Keosauqua for a number of years, and moved to Kansas City in 1942. Mr. Syfert died in 1952.

Surviving are a niece, Helen Basso, Kansas City, and a nephew, Raymond Jemison, DuPont, Colorado.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, North Kansas City, Mo.

The body will be brought to Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua Wednesday. Graveside services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Fellows Cemetery, Keosauqua. There will be no visitation. Memorials to Fellows Cemetery may be left at the funeral home.
