Edgar J. Clark, 77, of Bonaparte, Iowa died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 1990 at the Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua, Iowa.
He was born July 11, 1912 in Shelbina, Missouri, the son of George and Rose Morey Clark. He married Olive L. Johnston in 1933 in Smithfield, Illinois.
Edgar was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He had been a farmer, and factory worker for over 20 years at the American Thermos Co. in Macomb, Illinois.
He had lived over four years in Bonaparte, with his previous residence in Macomb. He was a member of the United Bretheran Church and the American Legion.
Surviving are two sons, Conrad D. Clarkk of Lockridge, and Gordon P. Clark of Lockridge, and Gordon P. Clark, Yuma, Arizona; two daughters, Mary S. Royer of Tempe, Arizona and Myrna L. Deweese of Bushnell, Illinois; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Lola Pratt of Stockport, Daisy Jack and Kathryn Cass, both of Bonaparte, and a brother, Clyde Clark of Bonaparte.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Glen, Carl, Frank, Emmett and Lawrence, one sister, Maude, and one granddaughter.
Graveside rites with military honors were held Wednesday, June 6, 1990 at the Bonaparte Cemetery with Reverend Monte Knudsen officiating.
