Agnes Parsons

Agnes Christine Parsons, daughter of Henry and Lena Weis Ploss, was born in the White Elm community south of Selma, Iowa January 15, 1909 and died at her home in Douds on Thursday, January 18, 1990 at the age of 81. She graduated from Selma High School and lived her life in the Selma-Douds community.

She married Mark Parsons August 21, 1930.

Surviving are two sons, Merrill and his wife, Carol of Pekin, Illinois and Norman of Ottumwa, five grandchildren, a sister, Anna Plowman of Douds, other relatives and friends.

A sister, Lillie Plowman, a brother, Fred Ploss, two grandsons and a granddaughter preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 22, 1989 at 10 A.M. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds, with Richard Parsons officiating. Interment was in Calvary Section of Eldon Cemetery. A memorial was established for the Douds Community Building Fund.
