Iva E. Coleman

Iva E. Coleman, daughter of Hubert and Sarah Lee Young, was born July 7, 1905 in Henry County and died Tuesday morning, March 22, 1988 at Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield at the age of 82.

She married Stephen E. Coleman November 11, 1924 in Mt. Pleasant. They lived in Henry County until moving to their farm west of Mt. Sterling in 1936. Mr. Coleman died in 1986.

Also preceding her in death were three sons, Leslie, Keith and Charles, seven grandchildren, five sisters, Anna Young, Myrtle Kinney, Mary Litton, Macil Vandenberg and Elsie Kenyon, and four brothers, Andrew, Walter, John and Floyd Young.

Surviving are four sons, Kenneth of Bonaparte, Eugene of Birmingham, Gary of Fairfield and Mavin, Dakota City, Nebraska; two daughters, Mary E. Harward, Fairfield and Darla Casady, Cantril; 31 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and a sister, Louva Deutsch.

Mrs. Coleman was a member of the Libertyville United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 25, 1988 at 10 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Reverend Gerald Caughron officiating. Interment was in Forest Home Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A memorial was established for the Van Buren Foundation.
