1988 MR 19Gerald Avery dies in Arizona
Former Fairfield resident Gerald Avery, 72, died Monday, March 14, 1988, in Wickenburg Community Hospital in Wickenburg, Ariz.
Mr. Avery was born March 20, 1915, in Salina. He married Florence Burnaugh on Nov. 16, 1935, in Washington. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mary Wolf in Illinois and Barbara Cross in Kansas; one brother, Homer of Milton; five sisters, Edna Carroll of Princetown, Ill.; Ferne Dickinson of Mount Pleasant; Cecil Morrow of Fairfield; Helen Pool of Douds; and Margaret Orms of Pleasant Plain; three granddaughters; three grandsons; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Mr. Avery was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2271 in Fairfield. He had lived in Arizona five years. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
