Carl E. Kerr

Carl E. "Andy" Kerr, son of Elmer and Jessie Dickey Kerr, was born Dec. 25, 1918 in Mount Sterling, Iowa and died Friday, April 29, 1988 at his home in Grand Prairie, Texas at the age of 69.

He grew up in Mount Sterling, graduated from Keosauqua High School, and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He had lived in Des Moines and the past 30 years in Grand Prairie.

He was a retired inspector at Ling-Temco-Vaught Aircraft Co. in Grand Prairie and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the United Auto Workers.

Surviving are a son, Jerry Ray Kerr, Dallas, Texas, a daughter, Kay Kerr Blanton, San Antonio, Texas, two grandchildren, several cousins in Van Buren County, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held Friday, May 6, 1988 at 2 p.m. in Harness Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, with Rev. Andrew Rubenking officiating. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
