Lala B. Brown

Lala B. Brown, daughter of Sherman and Elizabeth Jones Snook, was born October 31, 1907 in Davis County and died Thursday, April 14, 1988 in the emergency room of Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 80.

She grew up in Davis County and near Eldon. On December 24, 1924 she married Harold W. Brown at Eldon, and they have lived their married life on their farm south of Douds.

Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mary Kjos of Stillwater, Minnesota; a son, Roscoe of Floris; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Pauline Corder, Deming, New Mexico and Audrey McClurg, Batavia.

Preceding her in death were a son, Franklin; a daughter, Gelene; two brothers, Wilbur and Marvin Snook and five sisters, Mildred Crow, Virgie Bayne, Mary Okestrum, Edna Essary and June Morrow.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 17, 1988 at 2 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds with Reverend Stephen Conte officiating. Interment was in Leando Cemetery. A memorial was established.
