Refa McClellan dies at 62

Refa M. McClellan, 62, of 306 Iowa Ave., died at 1:10 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 1988, at Jefferson County Hospital.

She was born March 21, 1926, near Hillsboro, the daughter of Merle F. and Viola Belle Moxley Stanley. She married Loren G. McClellan on June 21, 1947. He died Dec. 19, 1979.

Mrs. McClellan had lived in the community for 48 years. She had been a cosmetologist for 32 years and had owned and operated Refa's Beauty Studio. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Hannah Circle, the National Hairdressers Association and a past member of Business and Professional Women.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Stanley G. and Bobbie Jo McClellan of Fairfield; four grandchildren; and five brothers, Charles J. Stanley of Hillsboro, Dale E. Stanley of Sigourney, and Clifford W. Stanley, Marvin L. Stanley and Leland L. Stanley, all of Fairfield.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clair Odell officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or the American Diabetes Association.
