L. Duane Hornbaker

L. Duane Hornbaker, 59, Bonaparte, died at 7:12 a.m. Sunday, September 27, 1987 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Hornbaker was born August 15, 1928 at Bonaparte and was a lifelong resident of the community. He was a farmer and millwright. He was a member of the former Story Chapel Methodist Church.

Surviving are his mother, Nona Story Hornbaker, Keosauqua; two brothers, Cecil Hornbaker, Keosauqua, and Gayle Hornbaker, Minetonka, Minnesota; and three sisters; Elaine Burkett, Keosauqua, Mrs. Harry (Jo Anne) Baxter, Stronghurst, Illinois, and Mrs. Vernon (Carolyn) Ohlendorf, Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roger B. Hornbaker.

Services were held Wednesday, September 30, 1987 at 10 a.m. at Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington, with Reverend James Rozendaal officiating. Burial was in Thompson Cemetery near Bonaparte.

A memorial is being established with Thompson Cemetery, Contributions may be made at the Hofbauer Funeral Home.
