Clement W. Armstrong, age 81, 1009 S. 4th St., Fairfield, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27 at Jefferson County Hospital, Fairfield.
He was born Dec. 16, 1905 in Jefferson County, the son of W.J. and Frances Leelang Armstrong. He married Elsie Davis Sept. 26,, 1948 in Fairfield.
He owned grocery stores in Fairfield and Keota and managed the State Liquor Store in Fairfield.
He is survived by his wife Elsie and one sister, Vera Swadley from North from North Glenn, Colo. and one nephew Robert W. Swadley of North Glenn, Colo.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 30 at Behner Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Burial was in Abingdon Cemetery, Abingdon, Iowa. Memorials to the Abingdon Cemetery or American Cancer Society.
