Robert H. Wagner

Robert Hugh Wagner, son of Hugh and Gertrude Stansbary Wagner, was born September 12, 1917 at Orange, Texas, and departed this life the evening of Tuesday, February 3, 1987 at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 69.

Bob was employed a number of years at Iowa Malleable Iron Co. in Fairfield, and served in the United States Armed Forces during World War II.

He married Ruby Lewman December 23, 1951 in Beaumont, Texas. They lived several years in Douds prior to moving to Fairfield. Ruby passed in 1977. He later married Virginia Beeman who died in 1986.

Surviving are three stepsons, Sherman Miller, Fairfield, and Edward and Ernest Snell, both in California; three stepdaughters, Patricia Welch in Caliofrnia, Wanda Ross, Fairfield and Alice Caviness of Milton; several brothers and sisters in the South.

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 5, 1987 at 1:30 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with Rev. Gerald Caughron officiating. Interment with military honors was in Pittsburg Cemetery.
