Helen Wainscott Peacock

Helen Wainscott Peacock, 89, of Dallas, Texas died there the morning of Thursday, February 19, 1987. She was born January 11, 1898 near Douds, the daughter of James and Bertha McCullough.

She graduated from Keosauqua High School and the University of Iowa. She was a United of Iowa. She was a United Methodist and a member of P.E.O. She married H. Bates Peacock and had lived many years in Texas.

Surviving are two sons, Elwin of Houston, Texas and Robert in Norway; six grandchildren; a great-grandson, and a sister, Nellie Wainscott of Ottumwa. Her husband and two brothers, Hollis and Donald Wainscott, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 23, 1987 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Rest Land Memorial Cemetery, Dallas, with burial there. Memorials to Highland Park United Highland Park United Methodist Church, Dallas, the Diabetes Association or P.E.O. may be sent in care of Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds.
