Arthur P. Heston

Arthur P. Heston, 73, of Memphis, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 14, at his home.

He was born Oct. 15, 193, in St. Mary's, Neb., the son of Silas Saxton and Lorena Kirkpatrick Heston. He married Florence Johnson on April 29, 1933, in Kahoka, Mo.

He was a longtime resident of Keokuk before moving to Memphis six years ago. He retired from Foote Mineral Co. in 1968, was a veteran of World War II, and member of the First Christian Church and V.F.W. in Memphis.

Survivors include daughters Mrs. Robert (Doris) Trout of Victor, Iowa and Mrs. Eugene (Annette) Benedict of Milton, Iowa; son Fred Heston of Iowa City; brothers Eber Heston of California, Robert and Loren "Gene' Heston, both of Keokuk; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1968 and one sister.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Schmidt-Vigen Memorial Home with the Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the Montrose Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today with the family meeting friends from 7-9 p.m.
