James Orin Cone

James Orin Cone, 74, of Memphis, Mo., died Sunday, March 22, at the V.A. Hospital in Columbia, Mo.

He was born Jan. 3, 1913, in Milton, Iowa the son of John W. and Sadie Helen Baker Cone. He married Lucille Binkley on Dec. 31, 1948, in Memphis, and she survives.

He had cared for the following children: Mitch Walker, Mike and Jane Walker, Glenda Jo and Larry Miller, Conie and Pat Baker, James Dale and Linda Baker.

He was a graduate of Downing High School, and had owned and operated trucks as a fertilizer and grain dealer. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of the First Christian Church of Memphis and the VFW Wallace Gillespie Post 4958.

He was preceded in death by one son, one sister and two brothers.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church of Memphis with the Rev. Kenneth Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton, Iowa.

Visitation will be until 9 p.m. tonight at the Payne-Gerth Funeral Home in Memphis.

Memorials may be made to the church.
