BATAVIA - C.E. "Tom" Myers, 83, of Batavia died at 2:20 a.m. April 2, 1987, at Jefferson County Hospital.

He was born Dec. 10, 1903, in Jefferson County to Emmett and Maude Gardner Myers. he was a retired farmer and was a Cargill seed corn dealer and a dealer for Archer Oil. he was also employed by Fairfield Livestock Auction for many years. A resident of Packwood for 36 years, he had lived in Batavia for the past 24 years. He married Elva Bernice McCleary Jan. 22, 1927, in Ottumwa. She died Oct. 14, 1985.

He is survived by two sons, Keith of Keosauqua, and Kenneth of Ottumwa; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Emery "Bike" of Oxnard, Calif. He was preceded in death by a son, Raymond.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, the Rev. Kermit Black officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-8 p.m. today.

A memorial has been established to the cancer fund.
