CANTRIL - Creola Mae Beggs, 79, of Cantril died at 3:35 a.m. April 1, 1987, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was born Feb. 18, 1908, near Mt Sterling to James C. and Maribah Parsons Hervey. She was a life-time resident of the Cantril and Mt. Sterling areas, and had been at the Bloomfield Care Center since September, 1986. She married Hollis Beggs Feb. 21, 1931. He died in 1971.
She is survived by six sons, Donald of Thomson, Ga., Bernard of Mt. Sterling, Lowell, Jerry and Ned of Cantril, and Lee of Bonaparte; a daughter, Darlene Bishop of Springfield, Mo.; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Opal Sparks of Keosauqua.
The service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, the Rev. Andrew Rubenking officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery at Cantril.
The family will be at funeral home 7-8 p.m. Friday.
Memorials have been established to Van Buren County Public Health Nursing Service or the Bloomfield Care Center activity fund.
