Ida Kerr

CANTRIL - Ida C. Kerr, 102, of Cantril died at 8:25 a.m. March 25, 1987, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua, where she had lived since 1973.

She was born Oct. 10, 1884, in LaCleed(sp), Mo., to mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah Cook. She was reared in Brookfield, Mo., and Mt. Sterling. She was a member of Cantril United Methodist Church. She married Clem Kerr in Mt. Sterling. They farmed in the Mt. Sterling-Cantril area, and retired to Cantril.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Leota Kerr of Pleasanton, Calif.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Roy.

The service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of the Van Buren Good Samaritan Center. Burial will be Harness Cemetery at mt. Sterling.

Visitation is open at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

A memorial has been established to the Van Buren Good Samaritan Center.

Rites Saturday for Kerr, 102

CANTRIL - Ida C. Kerr, 102, former Cantril resident, died at 8:25 a.m. Wednesday at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua, where she had lived since 1973.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center with the Rev. Andrew Rubenking officiating. Burial will be in Harness Cemetery at Mount Sterling. Friends may call at their convenience at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, where memorials to the Good Samritan Center may be left.

Mrs. Kerr was born Oct. 10, 1884 at LaClede, Mo., the daughter of Daniel and Kathryn Cook. She grew up in Brookfield, Mo., and Mount Sterling. She married Clem Kerr Oct. 31, 1903 at Mount Sterling and they farmed in the Mount Sterling-Cantril area, retiring to Cantril. Her husband and a son, Roy, preceded her in death.

Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Leota Kerr of Pleasanton, Calif.; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Kerr was a member of Cantril United Methodist Church.
