Beatrice Nelson

Beatrice Nelson, age 91, formerly of Birmingham died March 2, 1987 at 2:32 P.M. at a nursing home in Joplin, Mo.

Born July 22, 1895 in Birmingham, she was the daughter of Meldon and Anna Anderson Nelson.

A registered nurse for over 60 years, she lived in Los Angeles until moving to Joplin Mo. in June, 1964. She has been in ill health for the past four months.

A member of the St. James Methodist Church in Joplin, she also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the daughters of Union Veterans.

Survivors include one sister, Rosetta Edwards of Joplin, Mo., and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were conducted Thursday, May 5, 1987 at 1:00 p.m. at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham with Rev. Robert Gates officiating.

The Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham were in charge of arrangements.
