Madolyn E. Stansbery

Madolyn E. Stansbery, daughter of Rowland and Sadie Evans Price, was born Aug. 12, 1922 at Milton and died the evening of Sunday, April 5, 1987 at Sait(err) Francis Continuation Care Center, Burlington, at the age of 64.

She grew up in Van Buren and Davis counties and graduated from Selma High School.

She married Lane Stansbery Feb. 2, 1946 in Galesburg, Ill. They lived in Ft. Madison and Bonaparte. Mr. Stansbery died in 1979. Her parents and a brother, Noel, also preceded her in death. Surviving are a son, Michael with the United States Marines at Paris Island, South Carolina, a daughter, Jacqueline Chovanec, Rock Island, Ill., two grandchildren, a brother, Kenneth Price and his wife, Shirley, Shawnee Mission, Kansas, a sister-in-law, Margaret Price, Ft. Madison, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Madolyn became a member of the Catholic Church while a resident of the care center.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 9, 1987 at 10:30 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Gregory Steckel officiating. Interment was in Sunnyside Cemetery, Milton. A memorial was established for the St. Francis care Center Activity Fund.
