Marion Eugene Stansbury

BOONE, Iowa - Marion Eugene Stansbury, 62, Boone, formerly of Fort Madison and Farmington, died at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, at Boone County Hospital, Boone.

Mr. Stansbury was born May 24, 1925, at Farmington and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Boon. He was employed by Northwestern Railroad for the past 44 years and was a member of United Trainsman Union, and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Fireman.

On July 4, 1947, at Fort Madison, he married Eva Sherwood, who survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Robert of LaGrand, Iowa, Junior of Loveland, Colo., and Darren of Montana; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Pearson, Boone; six brothers, Maurice of La Crosse, Wis., Callen of Eagle Grove, Iowa, Stanley and Joe, both of Fort Madison, Charles of Union, Iowa, and Dale of Richmond, Mo.; four sisters, Mrs. Joan Wilson, Revere, Mo., Mrs. Vesta Hollowell of Roswell, N.M., Dorothy Manfell, Napolean, Mo., and Mrs. Betty Lou Yaunt, Smithville, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two infant sons. His parents were Robert W. Stansbury, Jr., and Mary Alice Wehier Stansbury.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church of Boone. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery of Boone.

The body is at Schroeder Memorial Chapel, 1006 Sixth Street, Boone, where a parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday.
