Gerald (Jerry) Brewer

Final rites for Gerald (Jerry) Brewer, 66, 1319 Ave E., will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the King-Lynk Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Kamilos will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Mr. Brewer died of an apparent heart attack at 4:27 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, at Fort Madison Community Hospital. He had been stricken at his home a short time earlier.

He was born Aug. 1, 1920, at Brashear, Mo., and had lived in Fort Madison 45 years. He was a retired glazier for Barngrover Glass Co. of Burlington with 18 years of service. He was a member of the Fort Madison Senior Citizens. An Army veteran of World War II, he was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

On Oct. 27, 1956, in Fort Madison, he married Dorothy Wood, who survives.

Also surviving are two step daughters, Mrs. Ivan (Connie) Holsapple, West Palm Beach, Fla., and Sandra Wilson, Portland, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. Guida Mae Franklin, Memphis, Mo.; a step brother, James Franklin, Keosauqua; two step sisters; three grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Friends may call at King-Lynk Funeral Home until time of the service.

A memorial is being established with the Iowa Heart Association. Contributions may be made at the King-Lynk Funeral Home.
