James Robinson

BIRMINGHAM - James I. Robinson, 65, of Birmingham Route 1, died at 8 p.m. May 12, 1987, from injuries received in a tractor accident at his home Tuesday.

He was born May 1, 1922, in Corning, Ark., to George and Minnie Dell Robinson. He was reared in Poplar Bluff, Mo., and had lived in St. Louis before moving to Keosauqua in 1951. He also lived in Douds, Libertyville, and Birmingham. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and had worked at the Dexter Company in Fairfield from 1952 until his retirement in 1984. He married Ida McRoy Dec. 26, 1944, in Bloomfield, Mo.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Janet Hart of Jessup, and Linda Gibson of Birmingham; seven grandchildren; his mother, Minnie White of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; four brothers, Fred of Sacramento, Calif., John of Ottumwa, Herschel of Birmingham, and Arlie of Douds; and four sisters, Edna Mayes and Daisie Hodap of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Goldie DeBoeuf of St. Francisville, Ill., and Panzie Wilkerson of East St. Louis.

The service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, Bob Patterson officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday in Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield, Mo.

The family will be at the funeral home from 8-9 today.

Tractor mishap kills Birmingham man

BIRMINGHAM - A rural Birmingham man died of injuries received in a tractor accident near his home early Tuesday morning.

James I. Robinson, 65, of Birmingham Route 1 died following the 8 a.m. accident.

The accident was investigated by the Van Buren County Sheriff's Department, which would not release information concerning the accident Tuesday night.
