FARMINGTON - Services for Ronald R. Wixom, 25, 4635 Ave. J, Fort Madison, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Hofbaur Funeral Home in Farmington. The Rev. James Rozendaal will officiate. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington.

Mr. Wixom was killed in a motorcycle accident at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 9, on a Van Buren County road near Bonaparte.

He was born May 1, 1962, in Fort Madison and spent most of his life there. He was a mechanic at BJ's Performance in Fort Madison.

He married Kitty Sherill, who survives.

Also surviving are his father, Robert Wixom, Bonaparte; his mother, Sandra Fuget, Fort Madison; a son, Bobbie Rae Wixom, at home; four brothers, Mike Wilson and Kelly Shelton, both of Fort Madison, Byron Wixom, Olathe, Kan., and Brad Wixom, Bonaparte; and two sisters, Terri Wolf and Kimberly Dawson, both of Fort Madison.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Friends may call at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington where the family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today.

Local man dies in cycle crash

BONAPARTE - A Fort Madison man died in a motorcycle accident Saturday when he went off a county road near Bonaparte after missing a curve.

Ronald Ray Wixom, 25, 4635 Ave. J, formerly of Bonaparte, died in the accident which occurred at 5:05 p.m. Saturday eight-tenths of a mile north of Bonaparte on county road W-40, the Van Buren County Sheriff's Department reported.

He was pronounced dead at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua. Sheriff's officials said he was not wearing a helmet.
