KEOKUK - Final rites for Dorothy Louise Groves, 61, Montrose, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at DeJong's Funeral Home, Keokuk. The Revs. Michael Davis and Lee Gamblin will officiate. Burial will be in the Scandanavian Cemetery near Keokuk.

Mrs. Groves died early Monday, April 13, in traffic accident near Montrose.

She was born June 27, 1925, in Keokuk.She moved to Montrose in 1947. She was an employee of Sheller-Glove Corp. in Keokuk with 14 years service. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Montrose and Local 444 of the United Rubber Workers of Keokuk.

On Jan. 12, 1942, in Keokuk, she was married to Ross Spiker. He preceded her in death. On July 14, 1968, at Argyle, she was married to Vernon Groves, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Elmer Spiker, Douds, Ia., and Michael Spiker, Montrose; three daughters, Marie Groves, Linneus, Mo., Georgia Ann Varner, Comanche, Ia., and Donna Luginbuhl, Seattle, Wash.; three step sons, Richard Groves, Montrose, Joseph Groves, Linneus, and Frank Groves, San Pedro, Calif.; five step daughters, Dorothy Lee Coovert, Grandview, Mo.; Mary Ann Wrieden, Donnellson, Ida Parrish, Williamstown, Mo., Helen Egley, Centeville(err), and Maxine Rossiter, Keokuk; three brothers, George Johnson, Omaha, Neb., Herman Johnson, Jr., Keokuk, ad Virgil Johnson, Minneapolis; three sisters, Margaret Henson, Warsaw, Katherine Spiker, Argyle, and Jeanette Ealey, Wapello; 48 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a step son, a brother and a grandchild. Her parents were Herman and Lola Mae Brown Johnson.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at DeJong's Funeral home where the family will meet friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
