Noel W. McManis

Noel W. McManis, 70, of rural Montrose, died at 8:43 p.m. Friday, May 8, at the Fort Madison Community Hospital.

Born June 20, 1907, at Cantril, he was the son of Clay and Iva F. Work McManis. He married Stella Shireman Nov. 24, 1933, at Quincy, Ill.

He was a correction officer at the Iowa State Penitentiary, retiring after 17 years of service. He was a member of the Montrose United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Stella; one sister, Mrs. Marjorie Newlon, Fort Madison; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Monday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the King-Lynk Funeral Home, Fort Madison.

Services for Mr. McManis will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Montrose United Methodist church with the Rev. Donald Hensen officiating. Burial will be in Montrose Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Montrose United Methodist Church.
